Dow Jones Suspends Distressed Securities Index

May 4 2009 | 12:09pm ET

Dow Jones Hedge Fund Indexes today said that it has temporarily suspended publication of the Dow Jones Hedge Fund Distressed Securities Strategy Benchmark, effective immediately, until further notice.

The data provider said its decision to halt publication of the benchmark is a result of market conditions in the distressed securities space.

Index values for the Dow Jones Hedge Fund Distressed Securities Strategy Benchmark are available through April 30.

Earlier this year, Dow Jones suspended publishing its Convertible Arbitrage Strategy Benchmark until further notice. The remaining Equity Long/Short, Equity Market Neutral, Event Driven and Merger Arbitrage benchmarks will continue to be published on an end-of-day basis.
