Rogers Investment Advisors has hired Toshi Kirino to join the firm’s team in Tokyo as head of new product development. Kirino was previously head of financial institutions group at Gartmore Investment Japan.

“He dramatically increases our ability to reach Japanese investors who seek advice or guidance on investing in hedge funds,” said founder Ed Rogers. “His depth of experience in serving some of the largest institutional customers in Japan, coupled with his very deep knowledge of trading and the alternative investment space, makes him an exceptional addition to our team.”

Rogers advises the Wolver Hill Japan Fund, a fund of funds, which returned 6% last year and 12.5% since inception in 2006.
