International asset management, private equity and investment banking firm Baird has hired David Loeb as a managing director and senior research analyst covering the real estate sector, effective Jan. 1. The move is part of the firm's ongoing plan to strengthen its coverage of the real estate sector.

Loeb joins Baird from Friedman Billings Ramsey, where he served as managing director and senior research analyst. He will be based in Baird's Milwaukee office.

"The REIT industry continues to evolve, and the addition of David strengthens Baird's presence in this market," said Bob Venable, director of equity research at Baird. "He shares our commitment to objective, value-added research, and we are excited to have him on board."
