Merkin Says Madoff Investments Were No Secret

Bernard Madoff feeder fund magnate J. Ezra Merkin says his investors knew perfectly well that he invested their money with the notorious Ponzi schemer.

Responding to a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Merkin’s lawyers said that their client disclosed his relationship to Madoff to at least some investors. The former GMAC Financial chairman’s attorneys, in the Wednesday filing, asked the court to dismiss Cuomo’s suit.
