Bear Stearns P.E. Group Unwraps New 'Toys' Exec

Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, the Wall Street giant's private equity affiliate, has added a former Toys “R” Us executive to its retail group.

Richard Markee, formerly vice chairman of Toys “R” Us and vice president of merchandising at Target, is the New York-based private p.e. firm's newest operating partner. At Toys “R” Us, he led both the growth and expansion of the Babies “R” Us chain and Toys “R” Us Japan.
