Ex-Morgan Stanley Exec. Founds Hedge Fund, Alts. Advisory

A former Morgan Stanley executive has founded a new hedge fund in Atlanta, one of only a handful of such companies owned by an African-American.

Tru/Alpha Capital Advisors is the brainchild on Monty Bruell. In addition to managing hedge funds, the firm will also offer alternative investment advisory services.

"Central to our success is our niche focus on specific markets and our 'talent scout' approach to identifying emerging money managers who can be elusive in this industry," said Bruell. "This is critical to avoiding catastrophic losses like we've seen recently with rogue asset managers.”
