RWC Ramps Up Staff For U.S. Long/Short Funds

Jul 28 2009 | 9:23am ET

RWC Partners has made a number of new hires to work with portfolio manager Mike Corcell on its U.S. newly anticipated long short funds. Both RWC Biltmore and RWC US Absolute Alpha are US equity long/short funds set for launch in October.

The team joining Corcell will be Gabe Marshank, Alex Robarts, Sam Weeman and trader Hayes Varey.

Marshank spent seven years at SAC Capital, where he was a senior analyst. Prior to working at SAC Capital he worked for Pequot Capital Management. Marshank and Corcell will work together, with Marshank responsible for the analysts and Corcell responsible for portfolio management.

Robarts previously worked with Corcell as an analyst on the Threadneedle American Crescendo Fund, and Weeman was number two in the global tobacco team at JPMorgan Chase.

“The strength and depth of the team that will be in place from day one reflect the commitment RWC Partners is making; in this environment investors are looking for fully resourced, stable investment teams,” said Peter Harrison, CEO of RWC Partners.
