Third Point Adds Analyst

Activist hedge fund shop Third Point has hired a Carlyle Group analyst to bolster its distressed debt team.

Scott Leslie joins the New York-based firm after a stint as an associate with Carlyle’s buyout division, Third Point founder Daniel Loeb told investors in his second-quarter letter. At Third Point, Leslie will serve as an analyst covering distressed debt.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Leslie worked at the financial sponsors group at Credit Suisse, focusing on leveraged finance.
