Jane Iwanowski, the wife of Goldman Sachs’ former top hedge fund manager, was busted for drunk driving in tony East Hampton, N.Y., last month.
Iwanowski crashed her 2003 BMW into a tree near her home in East Hampton on July 26. After a neighbor drove her home, she was arrested on a misdemeanor driving while intoxicated charge and taken to police headquarters. From there, she was taken by authorities to the hospital, when she “began showing signs of alcohol overdose and was unable to walk or stand.”
Ray Iwanowski and his partner, Mark Carhart, were once the toast of the alternative investments world, manager of the “Cadillac of hedge funds,” Goldman’s Global Alpha. But two years ago that Caddy turned out to be a Yugo, plummeting 40%. The fund was also hit hard by the economic crisis last year, and in April Iwanowski and Carhart retired from Goldman.
