The Hedge Fund Association is expanding its ambit to the south with the creation of a new regional chapter.

The industry group has established a Southeast Chapter, and named Andrew Schneider its director. Schneider is founder and co-principal of HedgeCo Networks, which is based in West Palm Beach, Fla.

In addition to its new southeastern group, HFA boasts regional chapters in the Northeast and Midwest.

And with the hedge fund industry facing increasing pressure from legislators and regulators, HFA is boosting its Washington, D.C.-based lobbying staff. The group has named Anh Huynh manager of government relations.
