Mathias Giebken has been appointed head of Citigroup's institutional sales for alternative investments in Germany and Austria, effective immediately. Giebken will cover a number of products, focusing on hedge funds, private equity, real estate and structured investment vehicles. He will work out of Frankfurt and London and report to Philip Anker, head of institutional sales and marketing for Citigroup Alternative Investments Europe and Stefan Mühlheim, board member of Citigroup Global Markets Deutschland AG.
Previously, Giebken occupied various roles at in fixed-income at Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, Société Générale and HSBC Trinkhaus&Burkhardt.
