Jupiter Asset Management will launch a pair of UCITS III-compliant long/short funds, giving retail investors access to star manager Philip Gibbs.
The Jupiter Absolute Return Fund LP60010210 and the Jupiter International Financials Fund are set to debut in the next two or three months. Both have already been authorized by the British Financial Services Authority, and are the latest in a recent flurry of UCITS-compliant funds as European hedge fund managers seek to stay one step ahead of impending European Union hedge fund regulation.
Both funds will invest primarily in global financial companies, Reuters reports.
In the year ended September 30, Gibbs’ Financial Opportunities Fund has returned 34.54%.
