Hedge fund and distressed sourcing specialist Kenton Jernigan has joined Jefferies International as head of its European institutional high-yield and distressed securities sales team in London.

Jernigan, the former managing director in charge of European high-yield distribution at Calyon Bank, is responsible for expanding the two-year old unit’s presence in the high-yield and distressed sectors.

“Kenton Jernigan’s experience and established relationships in the high-yield and distressed securities market significantly enhances Jefferies’ continued expansion in European leveraged finance,” Clifford Siegel, Jefferies International CEO, said.

Prior to Calyon, Jernigan worked at Tower Bridge Securities, SG Cowen, Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs.
