A former hedge fund CEO in Japan is offering his expertise to would-be hedge fund managers in the region.
Tetsuo Tanimura has founded C2G Advisors Co. in Tokyo. The hedge-fund consultancy will offer capital introduction and fundraising help to new Asia hedge funds, which are expected to proliferate in the coming months.
In addition to matching hedge funds with potential Japanese investors, C2G may also seed funds itself and provide investor services, including due-diligence, Bloomberg News reports.
Tanimura left Tower Investment Management in September. As the firm’s head, he oversaw a doubling of assets to ¥330 million (US$3.6 billion).
“There’s a lot of great talent out there that’s struggling to raise funds, and that’s where the opportunities are,” Tanimura told Bloomberg. “I want to find the second and third Tower Investments in the region and help them grow their businesses.”
