Jupiter Asset Management is giving its new star manager a spot on its flagship hedge fund.

Guy de Blonay, who will join Jupiter next month after eight years at New Star Asset Management and Henderson Global Investors, will become co-manager of the £1.4 billion Financial Opportunities Fund over the summer, the firm said. He will work alongside Philip Gibbs, Jupiter’s existing star manager, who will manage two new UCITS III-compliant retail funds planned by Jupiter.

Robert Mumby, the co-manager of the offshore version of Global Financials, will continue to provide stock research and analysis for the fund. He also manages the Jupiter Global Financials fund.
