Lyxor: Hedge Funds Add 1.1% In Nov.

The Lyxor Global Hedge Fund Index jumped 1.1% last month as hedge funds profited from volatile markets during the month.

The index—the most pessimistic of hedge fund benchmarks—is up 5.5% on the year.

Special situations funds jumped 2.6%. Long-bias funds added 1.7% in November. Variable bias funds rose 0.7% in November. Distressed funds added 0.4%, while merger arbitrage funds rose 0.2%.

Statistical arbitrage funds fell 0.6%, market neutral funds dropped 0.5%, convertible and volatility arbitrage shed 0.3%.
