Ireland Approves Hedge Fund Index-Based Products For Retail Investors

Hedge fund index-based products are coming to the European retail market following approval in Ireland.

The country’s Financial Regulator is thought to be the first to approve index-based products as eligible for the UCITS III framework. Products based on the FTSE Hedge Global and FTSE Hedge Momentum indices have been given the green light, according to the Financial Times.

The Financial Regulator said it “has accepted UCITS applications with derivative exposure to finance indices based on hedge funds,” the FT reports.
