Tiger Vet Cox To Head Barclays Americas

Tiger Management veteran and inheritor of a famous name Archibald Cox, Jr., has joined Barclays as head of its Americas business.

Cox, the son and namesake of the renowned Harvard Law School professor and Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox, will succeed Chet Feldberg as chairman of Barclays Americas next month, “at a time of both great challenges and great opportunities,” according to Barclays President Robert Diamond.

Cox worked at Tiger, the famed hedge fund run by Julian Robertson, from 1993 to 1995. His years of Wall Street experience include time at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Most recently, he spent 11 years as president and CEO of Magnequench Inc., which makes materials to be used in magnets.
