Ex-Robeco Merger Arb. Team Finds New Home In N.Y.

The merger arbitrage team from Robeco Investment Management has found a new home within AM Investment Partners, a New York-based alternative asset management.

The former Robeco team, headed by industry vet Arthur Levy, will be merged into AMIP, bringing with them approximately $100 million under management. AMIP’s new Merger Arbitrage Fund will be managed independently from its existing Convertible Arbitrage and Volatility Arbitrage funds, and will be closed to new investments until it is fully integrated in its new home.

“While it’s a bit of a contrarian call in the current market, I am very excited about the prospect of merger arbitrage over the long-run,” said Mark Friedman, co-founder of AMIP. “Arthur is no stranger to difficult market conditions. He and his team represent over 50 years of merger arbitrage investment experience and have achieved consistent positive returns through multiple market cycles.”

AMIP was founded in 2001.
